Attend an inspiring conversation with City Park Farmers Market founders and Visiting Scholar at Denver Seminary in a conversation about how we can value local food and farmers.

The farm is a sacred place. Locally produced food is at the unique intersection of commerce and community. The City Park Farmer’s Market was established by Peter and Margo Wanberg. In 3 short years, they have established City Park Farmer’s Market as a hallmark of local food advocacy and community connection. Each Saturday the market is a unique combination of advocacy for local farmers and food with a celebratory social gathering of neighbors and friends. “At the core of our concept is the question, “How do we value food more?”, said Peter Wanberg.

Housed in a renovated historic auto shop, Grow + Gather is an urban farm, market, daytime café and event venue uniting the farm and table under one roof. The Feedery serves up healthy and delicious chef-inspired meals showcasing seasonal ingredients sourced from our indoor and outdoor farming operations, as well as other local providers.

SPEAKERS

Peter and Margo Wanberg are the founders and organizers behind the City Park Farmers Market in Denver. The market is now in its third year of operation, with 100+ vendors that are all food-focused and locally owned and operated. With a long term vision of being advocates for food-focused small businesses, thier efforts have primarily been focused on growing the connection between farmers and the Denver community.

The Wanbergs both grew up in Denver and went to school at CU Boulder. They are parents to a one year old, Nora, and a future little boy due in November. Margo is a beekeeper and avid gardener, Peter is the owner and operator of Jubilee Roasting Co, and enjoys biking and running in his ever diminishing spare time.

Michelle Stinson is currently a Visiting Scholar in Old Testament at Denver Seminary. Much of her present research explores the topics of food, agriculture/land care, and the Psalms. She is a Spiritual Director, has spent a season training as a Chef, and every summer eagerly awaits her first taste of a garden-grown heirloom tomato sandwich.
